First, someone gave me this coconut water. I haven't opened it yet, because I don't know what to do with it. Hmm, should I just slurp it, or is there another way to enjoy this?
Do you like coconut water, and do you have any suggestions?
And then there's Bob, my latest oatmeal friend. This seven grain jumble includes barley, oats, corn, whole grain wheat, rye, brown rice, oat bran, triticale (wheat-rye hybrid grain), and flaxseed. Just 1/4 cup of this good stuff has 6 grams of fiber and 140 calories. This upgraded oatmeal sure is swell!

Oats in a Jar.
I first saw this idea from the wonderful blogger at Food, Faith, and Fitness. But then I noticed bloggers everywhere were eating this, so I became convinced that I was missing out on something great. I had just finished a jar of almond butter, so on Saturday I made my oatmeal in the almost-empty jar with some chopped banana and pecans. Yum indeed! And finally, the featured food of my weekend was fresh ground peanut butter and almond butter!
Let's crank that nut butter!
My friend was visiting me this weekend, so I wanted to show her my latest nutty fetish from the
Harvest Coop!
Just flip that switch and the fresh PB comes oozing out. I love this stuff because it is less sweet than the nut butters in the jar, and tastes authentically gritty. Now my friend is just as excited as I am!
Above Left-Fresh PB. Above Right-Fresh almond butter.
How was your weekend? Eat anything new? And if you have any tips for coconut water, please let me know!
Thanks,
Rachel

No tips for the coconut water, but I also love Bob's Red Mill. I have used both 7 and 10 grain for cereal and for baking in bread. I love the crunch! I feel the same about nut butters too, although I like big nut chunks in mine,, so I don't use the grinder. But WFM makes a good chunky one, and I'm like you. Nuts is all there should be. No sugar!
Thanks for the tips Sheri! Adding Bob's grain mix to bread does sound amazingly crunchy! yum.
I love coconut water, especially after a night of drinking (yes, I'm an RD, but I like to have some fun too!!). It's also suggested as a great drink for athletes, but the carbs are slightly low for an athlete in my opinion. I prefer the pomegranate sweetened one! The plain kind of has a funky smell, don't you think??
I had a great weekend, nothing new, same old stuff, errands and relaxation! Glad you enjoyed a fun trip to the grocery, so did I :) I love grocery shopping!
YAYAYA FOR OIAJ! sooo gooooood!! oh my gosh!
im eating it tommo- now im super pumped!
jelous of your PB creations!
I'm a big fan of coconut water and did a post on it a little while ago :) It's actually really great for hydration and some research (although limited) has shown it is comparable to traditional electrolyte replacement beverages. It has slightly less carbs, less sodium (not so good for athletes) and more potassium. I like Zico or vitacoco and just drink it right from the container. It's really refreshing after a workout & doesn't upset my tummy like some sports drinks :) mmm pb heaven!
I've never tried coconut water; let me know how you like it! I had a wonderful weekend. I tried spanakopita for the first time this weekend and it was delicious.
fresh ground nut butter from harvest or whole foods is the best!!!!!!!!
and i love coconut water! i usually just drink mine plain, but its also good with chia seeds!
I would love to go to a place where you can make your own nut butters. Those look amazing!
I have never had coconut water but have heard good things about it. Can't wait to hear what you think about it.
